Walter's love of music, especially drums started at an early age. He started learning in junior high school and
continued throughout High school and played on the drum line in both. He got his first job at age 15 to buy his
first drum set. He self taught himself the drum set by constantly playing along with music by Led Zeppelin, and
Van Halen, to the great funk and soul music of the time as well. He formed his first band Myrage, at age 17. He
then formed "Hyjinx" in the early 80"s, which quickly gained momentum in the local club scene, and toured many
cities in the South, as well as opening for 70's greats Black Oak Arkansas and Canned Heat. After a few spot gigs,
he joined Side Effects a local wedding band. After taking some time off he joined Steven Street, a popular Northshore
based "New Rock" band in 2000. They disbanded in 2002. Walter kept his love of playing alive by helping form The
Gashouse Gorillaz. Now after 4 years, and a few changes The Gorillaz are better than ever!
